Section 4: Managing for Success

Accommodating TBI - Continued

For those with Visual Problems, consider:

  • Replacement of fluorescent lights to high intensity white lights or natural light
  • Job-site accommodations including adaptive technology

For those experiencing difficulty with Productivity and Working Effectively with Supervisors, consider:

  • Job coaches who make frequent, scheduled site visits
  • Job sharing with another employee
  • Mentoring by a co-worker or retired worker
  • Setting reasonable expectations for task completion
  • Limiting multi-tasking
  • Recognizing accomplishments through positive reinforcement

(Note: Those with mild TBI generally do not need any or all of these adjustments or accommodations.)
